On October 21, 2007 a man-made wildfire swept into South Eastern Orange County touching the lives of every citizen in the county. As Monday, October 22nd broke the Santiago Canyon fire moved into the edges of the City of Irvine and beyond. At the time of this publishing the fire is only 65% contained with full containment estimated on November 2, 2007. Approximately 28,000 acres were burned and 9 homes were lost.

Orange County EMS activated the county Emergency Operations Center and with that activation placed Doctor's Ambulance on tactical alert.
